Summer Must Have Fashion Items

Summer has hit South Africa and it's time for those outdoor markets, music festivals, days on the beach and rooftop parties
Below are some of my favourite must have fashion items to rock this summer...

1) The Kimono

This is such a huge trend I had to a separate post on it http://spreadingthequirky.blogspot.com/2014/10/the-kimono-craze.html

2) The Fringe Bag

3) Hats

One of my favorite hats that i fell in love with in the South of France is the Panama Hat below - and guess what it's available at Woolies ;) - go shop ladies!!

4) The Pineapple Print

It's the summer fruit that's basically the new bird print of 2014

Pineapples, big and small, have been seen on every type of clothing from dresses to T-shirts. They may be a little too cutesy to some, but adding a few pineapple printed items here and there will work for any look

Love Love Love!!

5) The High Waisted Bikini

5) Slider Sandals

Not everyones favourite item infact many call it the ugly sandal trend but there are many ways to make this look feminine and chic...

The Kimono Craze

Is it a scarf? Nooo. Is it a robe? Nooo. Is it a cape? Well, no, but it could be. As the title betrays we are talking about one of summer’s most coveted trends – the KIMONO – regardless of its cut (and they come in millions of them) it always adds just the right amount of razzmatazz to a look, to the point that even if you’re at home, in your worst shorts or PJ’s, and throw one on, you’ll end up looking fabulous while having coffee
The Coachella music festival as I mentioned in an earlier post (http://spreadingthequirky.blogspot.com/2014/05/coachella.html) gave rise to the massive festival trend, which in turn led to craze of the kimono trend. I absolutely love this cover up it’s incredibly feminine and very sexy, it’s Boho chic, western cool, St. Tropez glamorous, effortlessly chic, gypsy knock out beauty, rock ‘n roll, feminine, grungy, posh hobo – incredibly trendy. It comes in a many styles from long, short, midi, prints, fringes, silky, oversized, etc. My personal favorite Kimono are the ones with fringes!
The kimono trend is so popular that New Look has sold one kimono every minute last summer in Europe. If there’s one must have item this summer in has got to be the Kimono

How to wear kimonos

Just throw one on. They do look best with shorts, short dresses or skirts, bustier tops, tank tops, over swimsuits, and over anything you’d actually rock on a hot summer night or day. Wear it as a silky jacket or as a rock ‘n roll sophisticated cover up. Wear it to jazz up any outfit

What I wore for Eid

I don't always dress up for Eid but after some great buys in Europe and Japan earlier this year I had to dress up!
