Crop that Top

Despite the cold weather in Cape Town Summer is on the horizon and a must have item for this summer is the crop top.

Although the crop top has been around for years this season’s crop-top trend has been swept in with the tide of ’90s revival everywhere in fashion, from platform shoes to ripped jeans to backpacks. It isn’t something you sweat in. And it doesn’t want to shock. It’s cooler and fresher than ever before, without the titillation of the Britney era.

When paired with high-waisted pants or skirts, it’s lady-like and refined. Michael Kors’s striped versions are vibrant and sophisticated, and Alexander Wang’s assortment of minimal, monochromatic cropped tanks and bra tops are the go-to summer shirts for the style set

Monochrome

What's Black and White and Trending All Over?

…The monochrome trend!

The Metallic Trend

Metallic clothing makes it presence felt in spring/summer 2013 - from futuristic motifs to classic re-imaginings

Exhilarating and ever-present, shining on all of the major runways of the world (and we mean it literally), the metallic trend was envisioned as a noble en-richer of spring / summer’s fashions that have been treated with delicious shimmers and futuristic twists. Stepping outside of the common grounds and heading towards an ultramodern destination, cutting-edge metallics are now here to stay within your wardrobe.

As the major highlight of spring 2013′s fashion, metal is being carried across into the new season within fresh re-interpretations and unexpected combinations, bringing along a sense of novelty best described by the delicate pastels, high-shine textures and mirrored effects. In a game of opulence versus casualness, everything is allowed.

Working great when topped by lots of confidence and a laid-back attitude, 2013′s metallic clothing trend can be balanced between both an elegant and a far more relaxed aesthetic for making long lasting statements. The runway stands as a vivid representation of the trend’s undeniable versatility.
